Beautiful and simple paper butterfly craftwork for children

This is a great follow up activity for children learning the English B alphabet sound, or children learning about nature and animals. It is also a great art project to do any day of the year! Let’s get started.

Fun butterfly craftwork for kindergarteners
Here is the final artwork for this project. Estimated project time is one hour
  1. Print off the butterfly template, or draw your own on a sheet of paper
  2. Acrylic Paint (Any colors of your choice). Paintbrush, scissors, and paper glue.
  3. Ice-cream or popsicle sticks. One for each butterfly. Chennile stem for the butterfly tentacles.

Steps

Print the butterfly template on a piece of paper (thicker paper works best for younger kids as they can handle it better) or draw one of your own.

Fold the template along the fold line.

Cut the wing out, keeping it folded.

Open the wing and put drops of paint on one side of the wing. The wings will be closed after to transfer paint to the other side of the wing so it is important that there is enough paint.

Close the wing and press on it to ensure that the paint is transferred to both sides of the wing.

Open and wait till it is completely dry.

Color the popsicle stick and wait till dry.

When dry, open the wings and glue it to the popsicle stick. Glue the chennile stems and eyes.
